First Stage.
Balanced diaphragm operating system.
DFC system (Dynamic Flow Control). It provides uniform breathing at any
depth, while maintaining a constant intermediate pressure.
It utilizes a main port connecting the 2nd stage to the 170º pivoting connector.
The pivoting system is designed to utilize the unique shape and symmetry of the
2ndstage Viper. Such a system allows the regulator to be used from both the
right and left side with the 1st stage mounted on the tank. A mechanical block
allows a maximum rotation of 170º towards the diver, so that the 2nd stage is
always under control. The pivoting connector makes the regulator more
comfortable by following head movements and minimizes jaw fatigue.
The first stage has 7 ports; 1 main low pressure (swivel), 4 low-pressure and 2
high-pressure. Ports are opposite and ergonomic, with HP ports facing down;
perfect for instruments or transducers. The outer angle of the hose was designed
for maximum comfort.
Comfort grip knob.
Body is made of high-strength nickel and chrome-plated brass with a matte
satin-finish exterior.
Second Stage.
Thermal exchange metal foils are inserted in the 2nd stage body to act as heat
conductors which prevents regulator freeze-up. Metal inserts are made of high
resistance stainless steel and are rustproof.
NBS (Natural Breathing System). The introduction of the new patented
system allows breathing to be more comfortable, that has been made possible
through countless tests and research. A special inert spiral-shaped insert,
resistant to any corrosive agent, is inserted in the by-pass tube. With such a
special insert, airflow can be adjusted, making breathing more natural under any
condition.
V.A.D. (Voltrex Assisted Design). High performance air flow system,
by-pass tube.
T.E.C. (Trim Efficiency Control). Control of the trim lever for the best
performance during inhalation and exhalation phase.
Mesh grid. Top cover design optimizes water-flow around the 2nd stage
diaphragm and reduces the likelihood of free-flow.
Teflon covered lever. Hi-tech Teflon surface treatment.
Side exhaust tee. Side exhaust tee reducing air bubbles. Exhaust valve
easy to replace.
