Spyderco: Folding Rescue Knife A sheepfoot style blade is ideal for cutting around livestock, for marine applications and for use during emergency rescue efforts. A "sheepfoot" is a safety-style, blunt nosed blade that has the ability to cut, without the danger of inadvertently stabbing or puncturing since it has no sharp tip. Both the C14 Rescue and its smaller counterpart the C45 Rescue Jr. come equipped with this blade shape and the Spyderco Trademark Round Holeä. Available in a fully serrated SpyderEdgeä configuration only, the ATS-55 stainless steel blades are hollow ground and maintain a consistent thickness from heel to tip for durability and added strength. The larger Rescue has a blade length of 3 5/8 inches (93mm) and the Rescue Jr. 3.1 inches (79mm). Both models feature handles of fiberglass- reinforced nylon resin that are expanded on both ends so they don't slip in the hand while making a pulling cut. They attach to a pocket, belt or vest with a reversible left/right metal clip that stays put without pivoting or slipping. The C14 Rescue weighs 2.4 ounces (66.6 grams), the C45 Rescue Jr. weighs 2.1 ounces (59.9 grams).
